We’ve already reviewed the BLUblox Sleep+ lenses here on the site, but the SummerGLO lenses are designed for daytime use to help filter out the blue light emitted by artificial lighting and digital devices.
The SummerGLOs are yellow lenses that are designed to be used in the daytime, and they block out a specific blue part of the spectrum to help reduce the negative effects of artificial light.
The purpose of this review is for us to take a detailed look at the SummerGLO lenses from all angles to see whether they live up to the hype or not.
We’re going to be paying particularly close attention to the styles and frames, the lenses and the effect, and what other customers are saying about them.
We’ll then wrap things up by seeing where they stand in relation to our pick of the best blue light blocking glasses on sale at the moment.

BLUblox SummerGLO – The Basics
As we have already touched upon above, the BLUblox SummerGLO are blue light blocking glasses that are designed for daytime use.
Unlike the Sleep+ lenses which feature a much darker orange tint, the SummerGLOs have a yellow look to them and they have been designed for use during they day while working at your computer or under artificial light.
What we love about the whole BLUblox range is that they come in such a wide variety of styles. At the time of writing, there are more than 20 different styles available, meaning that you’ll be sure to be able to find frame that suits you best.
BLUblox also have a ‘custom’ blue blocker service, where you can send them a pair of sunglasses or glasses that you already own, and they will fit the BLUblox lenses and send them back to you.
We ordered the ‘Crystal’ frames. They are made from transparent plastic and have a smaller fit.
The BLUblox website is set up pretty well, and you can see what each of the frames look like on the same models, meaning that you’ll be able to get a pretty good idea of whether they will suit you or not.
That’s the one downside of BLUblox being an online-only brand. It means that you won’t be able to try out the glasses yourself to see if they’ll fit or not.
The official BLUblox website says that the SummerGLO lenses are designed for use in the daytime, and that they are set up to block 100 per cent light between 400 and 450 nanometers.
BLUblox are based in Australia but they ship worldwide. It took around a week for the glasses to be delivered to our door in London, UK, from having placed the order on the official BLUblox website.
So, to summarize, the SummerGLO lenses are made for use when you’re looking to reduce the effect of artificial blue light during the daytime, while it is still light outside.
Let’s now take a closer look at the frames and styles on offer for this model.
The Styles and Frames
What we love about the whole BLUblox range is that they offer the same wide range of different styles and frames of each of their three lens types.
At the time of writing, there are currently 20 different styles offered by BLUblox. They also provide a ‘custom’ blue blocker service, where you can send them an old pair of glasses or sunglasses, and they will custom-fit the lenses into them and send them back to you,
We purchased the Crystal SummerGLO glasses, which feature a transparent frame made of plastic and have a small fit overall.
The glasses themselves are of high quality, and they come complete with a carrying case, cleaning cloth, as well as a travel pouch.
BLUblox have one of the most comprehensive ranges of styles out there when it comes to blue blockers. One thing that many brands do not feature is a wide range of styles.
It’s great to see that BLUblox have designed their range to offer multiple styles, so you’ll be sure to be able to find one that suits you.
If you’re going to be wearing blue blockers on a regular basis, then you’re going to want to own a pair that actually look good, and that you can feel confident wearing out in public if necessary.
There is so much choice when it comes the the BLUblox styles that you are sure to be able to find one that suits you best.
The Lenses and the Effect
Now it’s time to take a closer look at the all-important lenses and the effect we felt while using them.
As mentioned above, the lenses are a bright yellow color, which sets them apart from the nighttime blue blockers that we’ve been using recently.
When we first put them on, we noticed that they give a yellowish and slightly green tint to the world. This is probably because the lenses have been designed to let in some green light.
We found the SummerGLO lenses to be particularly useful when working or travelling under really bright artificial fluorescent light. They help to cut down much of the blue part of the spectrum and make things just a lot less bright.
The color tint does not represent “a summer’s day” in our opinion, as we found that the lenses gave bright blue light a greenish tint, which felt somewhat unnatural.
Nevertheless, we found them to be hugely useful for use while working in bad artificial lighting conditions during the daytime. They are also great for a ‘transition’ lens in the evening before putting on something like the Sleep+ lens to help you prepare to wind down for bed.
Overall, they are a great addition to our blue blocker collection and are especially useful in the daytime.
What Are Customers Saying?
We took a look online to see what real customers were saying about the SummerGLOs.
At the time of writing, we found only one review on Amazon, for the Wayfarer SummerGLO. The review was for five stars and came from somebody who said that they “worked great” as promised.
As the full BLUblox range is only available from the official website, there are not much in the way of other reviews available online right now.
That said, they seem to have very positive feedback from what we saw on Instagram and Facebook.
• They are a premium priced product, meaning that they may not fit into everyone’s budget. That said, you can get 10% off your order at the official BLUblox website by using the discount coupon code HUMANWINDOW at checkout.
• You can currently only buy the full BLUblox range from the official website. This means that you won’t find them in stores, so you won’t be able to try them on before using them for the first time. That said, BLUblox do offer a solid returns policy, if you’re not happy with how they look on you.
Anything Else to Consider?
The SummerGLOs are a great option if you’re looking to reduce the effect of prolonged exposure to artificial light during the daytime while the sun is up.
However, if you’re looking for blue blockers to be used in the hours just before bed and to help you wind down, then the Sleep+ lenses from BLUblox or the Ra Optics Ultimate Night may be a better option for you.
You should not wear blue light blocking glasses while driving or while operating any machinery, as they can make things look pretty dark.
If you’re looking to improve your health, then we always recommend that you start with a healthy diet and regular exercise plan.
Adding in some blue blocking glasses to improve your overall relationship with light is a great way to further help you on your journey.
BLUblox SummerGLO Review Conclusion
That brings us to the end of our BLUblox SummerGLO review.
Overall, we found these glasses to be a great option if you’re looking for some daytime blue blockers to help reduce the effect of too much screentime and artificial light exposure during the day while the sun is up outside.
They help to tone down the harshness of even the brightest artificial lights and add a yellowish/green tint to your field of vision.
We found them to be a particularly useful addition to our range of blue blockers during the daytime, and they work great before switching to a darker lens before bed.
The main downside is the premium price tag and the fact that you can only get the full range on the official BLUblox website right now.
That said, we strongly recommend them as a brilliant option if you’re looking for some blue light blocking glasses for daytime use.
