C4 Ripped is a pre workout supplement made by Cellucor that’s designed to help you to get the most of your time spent in the gym.

Cellucor are one of the biggest names in the health and fitness industry so it’s difficult not to take notice whenever they launch a new product.

If you’re looking to find out whether C4 Ripped is the right product for you or not, then you’ve landed on the right page.

This in-depth review is going to focus on everything you need to know about this particular supplement so you can decide whether it’s the right one for you or not.

We’re going to be paying particularly close attention to the ingredients formula, the dosages and the customer reviews as we look to see where this supplement stands in comparison to the leading pre workout supplements on the market right now.

So, with the introductions out of the way, let’s start taking a close look at Cellucor C4 Ripped.

Cellucor C4 Ripped – The Basics

As we’ve already mentioned, Cellucor C4 Ripped is a pre workout supplement that’s been designed to help you hit your health and fitness goals.

You probably already know that pre workout supplements are products that have been designed to mixed with water and consumed before training to support your health and fitness goals.

We've picked out the top five leading pre workout supplements on the market right now.

We’ve already reviewed Cellucor C4 Original here on the site, and C4 Ripped claims to be a twist on that formula.

The marketing material on the official Cellucor website says that C4 Ripped combines the “explosive” energy of C4 Original with a new formula to help you achieve your body goals.

C4 Ripped comes in a number of flavors, including:

• Ultra Frost
• Berry Brainiacs
• Icy Blue Razz
• Raspberry Lemonade
• Fruit Punch

The product description also says that this is a pre workout that doesn’t use Creatine as one of the ingredients, unlike a lot of other similar supplements out there.

The marketing material goes on to say that this supplement uses key ingredients to help you push through your toughest workouts.

It all sounds pretty good so far, but we’ve pretty much heard it all when it comes to the claims that manufacturers make about their own supplements.

Instead, it’s better to focus on the actual ingredients formula and dosages when getting an all-round picture of a particular supplement.

So, with that in mind, let’s start taking a close look at the actual ingredients formula of Cellucor C4 Ripped.

The Ingredients

Let’s begin this key section by taking a close look at the exact formula of Cellucor C4 Ripped as written on the tub.

The Cellucor C4 Ripped ingredients formula. It's a shame that this supplement uses a proprietary blend to hide the doses of some of the ingredients.
The Cellucor C4 Ripped ingredients formula. It’s a shame that this supplement uses a proprietary blend to hide the doses of some of the ingredients.

The first thing we noticed is that the ingredients formula uses a proprietary blend to hide the doses of certain ingredients. This is not ideal and we generally recommend staying away from supplements that use proprietary blends.

Let’s now focus on the main ingredients in the formula.

• Vitamin C – This is an important vitamin that you are probably already familiar with. In case you didn’t know Vitamin C contributes to the normal functioning of the immune system, amongst other things.

• Vitamins B6 and B12 – These are two important B Vitamins that play key roles in a number processes in the body. For example, both Vitamins B6 and B12 contribute to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue and normal energy release, amongst other things.

• Calcium – An important mineral that you are probably familiar with. Calcium contributes to normal energy release, normal muscle function and the maintenance of normal bones, amongst other things. It’s a good inclusion in the formula.

• Niacin – Also sometimes known as Vitamin B3, Niacin contributes to normal psychological function, normal energy release and the reduction of tiredness and fatigue, so it’s another good ingredient.

• Beta-Alanine – This is a very popular pre workout ingredient. It’s a decent inclusion in the C4 Ripped formula, and we were happy to find it on the list.

• Green Coffee Bean Extract – We’re more used to finding this ingredient in so-called ‘fat burner’ supplements than pre workouts. That said, Green Coffee Bean Extract is thought to be beneficial because it’s rich in a substance called Chlorogenic Acid, so it’s a decent inclusion.

• Cayenne Pepper – Another ingredient that is more commonly found in thermogenic supplements than pre workouts. We do like Cayenne Pepper as an ingredient, it’s just a shame that it’s part of a proprietary blend, so we don’t know the actual dose used in each serving.

• Caffeine Anhydrous (150mg) – One of the most common pre workout ingredients out their. You probably already know all about Caffeine and its benefits. The 150mg serving in C4 Ripped is a sensible one, which should provide you with the benefits without triggering the all-too-familiar side effects such as the jitters or energy crashes later in the day.

What’s Missing?

The C4 Ripped formula does have some good things in it. It’s got one of the better vitamin and mineral blends out there, and it uses important ingredients such as Caffeine and Beta-Alanine.

However, the formula is also missing some of our favorite ingredients such as Beetroot Extract, Coconut Water Powder and L-Theanine.

Cellucor C4 Ripped Reviews

We did a little bit of digging on Amazon.com to see what real customers were saying about C4 Ripped.

At the time of writing, it had an average rating of 4 out of 5 stars from more than 1,500 reviews.

One happy customer left a five-star review and said that this supplement had helped them to step their game up massively during their workouts.

However, one negative review came from somebody who rated it one star and claimed that it had given them stomach cramps.

What About Side Effects?

The main thing to be careful of when it comes to pre workout side effects is the overuse of stimulants such as Caffeine.

The 150mg dose of Caffeine in this supplement is not too bad, and should not trigger issues for most people. That being said, you’ll still want to make sure that your limiting your Caffeine intake from other sources before taking this supplement.

You should carefully check the label to make sure that you’re not allergic to any of the ingredients.

It’s also always a good idea to do some of your own research into the ingredients before taking any new supplement for the first time.

Is This The Best Pre Workout For Me?

We don’t currently rate C4 Ripped as one of the very best pre workouts on the market right now. That’s mainly because it uses a proprietary blend to mask the doses of some of the ingredients, and it’s also missing some of our favorite ingredients.

Anything Else To Consider?

Just remember that there is no such thing as a magic supplement to solve your health and fitness goals.

You should always make sure that you’re sticking to a good diet, are training hard and getting plenty of rest before even thinking about adding a new supplement to your regime.

Supplements can indeed help to support your health and fitness goals, but they are not going to work miracles on their own – you’ll still have to put in the hard work yourself.

Also remember to speak to a certified medical professional before thinking about taking any new supplement for the first time.

Review Conclusion – Final Thoughts

That brings us to the end of our Cellucor C4 Ripped review.

Overall, we think that this is a pretty solid pre workout supplement that does use a lot of decent ingredients, especially vitamins and minerals.

However, we feel that it is let down by the fact that it uses a proprietary blend, and also misses out some of our favorite ingredients used in the leading supplements in this category out there right now.
