Today we’re going to be reviewing the Emma Mattress – the popular German-designed memory foam mattress that’s now available in the United States.

There are so many different memory foam mattresses on sale these days that it can become pretty difficult to pick out the best product for your needs.

The purpose of this Emma Mattress review is to bring you everything you need to know about this particular memory foam mattress so you can decide whether it’s the right one for you or not.

The Emma Mattress was originally only available for sale in Europe, but you can now buy it in the US.

In this review, we’re going to be paying particularly close attention to what the Emma is made of, how it feels and what real customers are saying about it, to find out whether it makes it into our selection of the best memory foam mattresses on sale right now.

The memory foam mattress market has exploded in recent years, with more and more people choosing to make the most of the convenience of having a new mattress delivered to their door in a vacuum-packed box.

Now that the Emma Mattress has arrived in the US, it’s time for us to take a closer look at it from all angles to see where it stands.

So, with the introductions out of the way, it’s time to start taking a closer look at the Emma Mattress.

Emma Mattress – The Basics

As we mentioned above, the Emma Mattress has been around for some years in Europe. It was founded in Germany in 2015 and quickly become one of the best sellers in the memory foam mattress category.

It was previously only available in Europe, but it’s now available to buy in the United States.

A twin-size Emma Mattress starts at $499 if you’re buying from the official website, with prices ranging all the way up to $1099.

It’s worth keeping a close eye on the official website, as they tend to offer discounts at various times of the year.

The Emma Mattress is an all-foam mattress which has been specifically put together to offer optimal spine support and be a perfect fit for all sleeping positions.

The marketing material on the official Emma website says that it’s been put together specifically to keep you cooler at night.

This is great to see, as one of the common problems with memory foam mattresses is that they tend to feel hotter than traditional ones.

The Emma Mattress is 12 inches thick, which is a bit more than most similar products, which tend to be around the 10-inch mark.

It uses three layers of foam to provide optimal support, whether you’re a side, back or stomach sleeper.

Here are the three layers of foam that the Emma Mattress uses:

1) Airgocell® Foam Layer – Adapts to pressure and responds to movement
2) Visco-Elastic Memory Foam Layer – Evenly distributes pressure to adapt to your body
3) HRX Material Layer – Provides the main support for your shoulders and lower back

It’s also worth noting that the Emma Mattress cover is removable and machine washable. This is great to see – and not always the case with mattresses in this category. The cover is made of 99% polyester and 1% elastane.

The marketing material on the official Emma Mattress is focused on how the mattress has been designed to provide both optimal spine support, and also help keep you cool.

The website says that the Emma will keep moisture and heat at bay to help you feel cooler overall. In case you didn’t know, your body temperature drops at night, and it’s better to be too cold than too hot during the night to assist in providing a great night’s sleep.

On the website, Emma say that they are confident that their mattress will provide the perfect night’s sleep for “99%” of their customers.

Like most of the similar memory foam mattresses on the market, the Emma comes with a 10-year guarantee and a 100-night trial.

The trial means that you can return the mattress for a full refund if you’re not happy with it within the 100-night mark. Emma say on their website that they will collect it from you free of charge if you’re not happy with it.

So, now that we’ve summarized some of the basic information about the Emma Mattress, let’s move on to the feel of it to see whether it’s a good choice for you or not.

What Does The Emma Mattress Feel Like?

The Emma Mattress is a little bit softer than many of the other memory foam mattresses out there right now.

For this reason, the Emma may be more suitable for side sleepers, who generally are more comfortable with a softer mattress.

That being said, the marketing material on the official Emma website says that this particular mattress has been put together in order to offer spine support for everybody – no matter your sleeping position.

We believe that the Emma would be more suited to side sleepers, but it may also work well for back and stomach sleepers too.

The Positives

• Cooling Design – We always like it when the manufacturer of a memory foam mattress focuses on providing cooling comfort. As we mentioned above, many memory foam mattresses can be too hot, so it’s great to see that the Emma has tried to address this problem directly.

• Trial and Guarantee – As is the standard with most memory foam mattresses, the Emma Mattress comes with a 100-night trial. That means that if you’re not happy with it after 100 nights, you can return it for a refund. The Emma also comes with a 10-year guarantee, which is also standard for the market.

• Spine Support No Matter How You Sleep – Although the Emma Mattress is a bit softer than some of the other similar products out there, it has been designed to offer optimal pressure relief and spine support for all types of sleepers. That said, the fact that it is a little softer means that it may suit side sleepers best.

The Negatives

• The Emma Mattress is new to market in the USA, so there is not a great deal of customer feedback available right now. Presumably, that will change as it becomes more well known in the coming months.

• Like most of the competing products, it has a premium price tag, with a King Size Emma Mattress costing $1099.

Emma Mattress Reviews

As we mentioned above, because the Emma Mattress is new to market in the USA, there is not a great deal of customer feedback available right now.

We took a look on Amazon.com to see what the first few customers were saying about the Emma Mattress.

At the time of writing, there were just 13 reviews of the Emma Mattress, and all of them were for five stars. It will take some time for more reviews to start filtering through.

One happy customer left a five-star review, saying that it helped them to get much better sleep, and that they have “never felt better” waking up.

Anything Else To Consider?

As you’ve probably already gathered, the only way to be sure as to whether a mattress is right for you or not is to try it out yourself.

Fortunately, products such as the Emma Mattress offer long trials for you to test them out, so you can see whether you like them or not.

There is probably no one mattress for everybody, so it’s worth doing some of your own research and taking particular consideration for you (and your partner’s) sleeping position.

To repeat what we mentioned above, firmer mattresses tend to suit back and stomach sleepers better, while softer mattresses are usually better for side sleepers.

Review Conclusion – Final Thoughts

So, that brings us to the end of our Emma Mattress review.

We were generally very impressed by the Emma – and it’s great to see it finally be made available in the US following its success in Europe.

The slightly softer feel of it may make it more suitable for side sleepers, but the manufacturers say that it should work for all types of sleeping positions.
