It says it will help you to “reach the next level, and the one after that”.
This is all sounds pretty good to us so far, but we’ve learned not to pay too much attention to what manufacturers say about their own products.
Instead, it’s generally better to focus on the ingredients and the doses to get an idea about whether the supplement is any good or not.
So with that in mind, let’s move on to the next important part of our OWN PWR review.
Let’s begin this part by taking a close look at the actual ingredients label as shown on the tub.
Firstly, it’s great to see that OWN PWR Pre Workout doesn’t use a proprietary blend.
This means that we are transparently told the doses of every single ingredient on the list, which is always what we like to see.
In case you didn’t know, proprietary blends are when supplement manufacturers choose to hide the doses of certain ingredients in an overall blend.
This is not good, as it makes it difficult to judge the effectiveness.
Let’s now start taking a look at the main ingredients in the OWN PWR formula.
• Calcium – This is not the most common pre workout ingredient but we have found it in a few of the supplements we’ve reviewed recently. Calcium contributes to normal energy release and normal muscle function, so it’s not a bad ingredient for a pre workout supplement.
• L-Citrulline – An amino acid found in watermelons, this is a very common pre workout ingredient. The six gram dose in OWN PWR Pre Workout is a solid one, and we were pleased to find it on the label of this supplement.
• Beta-Alanine – This is another common pre workout ingredient, that people sometimes report causes that ‘pre workout tingling’ sensation in your face. It’s not a bad ingredient and it’s also found in the female pre workout Powher.
• Taurine – A common ingredient in many commercially-available energy drinks, it’s also sometimes used in pre workout supplements. It’s certainly not a bad inclusion and we were pleased to find it in the OWN PWR formula here.
• Choline Bitartrate – This is a slightly less common ingredient for a pre workout. That said, it’s not a bad one. In case you didn’t know, Choline contributes to normal lipid (fat) metabolism, so it’s not a bad inclusion in the formula.
• Caffeine Anhydrous – Caffeine is probably the most well-known pre workout supplement ingredient. You probably already know all about it’s benefits, and it’s taken by millions of people on a daily basis. The slight problem that we have here is that the 300mg dose is a bit too high for our liking. We usually go for pre workouts that use no more than 150mg per serving. Too much Caffeine can cause some unwanted side effects.
• N-Acetyl L-Tyrosine – This is another fairly common pre workout ingredient. It’s not a bad inclusion and we were pleased to find it in the OWN PWR Pre Workout formula.
The OWN PWR Pre Workout formula is a decent one and it’s good that Amazon have chosen not to use a proprietary blend with this supplement.
That said, we were still slightly disappointed to see some of our favorite ingredients missing from this supplement.
For example, we were surprised that OWN PWR Pre Workout doesn’t contain any B Vitamins.
That’s because both Vitamins B6 and B12 contribute to normal energy release and the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.
It was also somewhat disappointing not to find any Beet Root Extract or Coconut Water Powder in this supplement.

We took a look on Amazon to see what real customers were saying about OWN PWR Pre Workout.
At the time of writing, it had an average rating of 3.6 out of 5 stars from around 60 reviews.
One happy customer rated it five stars and said that they loved the product after replacing their MusclePharm Assult supplement.
However, one more negative review came from someone who rated it one star and said that it had a “small potency”.

That’s mainly because we feel that the dose of Caffeine is too high at 300mg, and it’s also missing some important ingredients such as Vitamins B6 and B12.
