Today we’re going to be reviewing the organic MCT Oil made by Performance Lab.

We’ve been experimenting with a few different brands of MCT Oil in recent weeks and so were keen to give the Performance Lab version a try.

Specifically, we’ve been mixing it into our morning coffee to give us a little boost.

Product website:

The Performance Lab MCT is an organic MCT oil designed to help support you through the day. But does it live up to the hype?

We’re going to bring you everything you need to know about this product as we look to see where it stands in the market.

Performance Lab MCT – The Basics

You probably already know this, but MCT oil is a form of concentrated ‘medium chain triglyceride’ oil.

This is a popular option nowadays as it plays a central role in some popular high-fat diets like the ketogenic diet, the Mediterranean diet, and Paleo.

MCT oils have become popular as alternatives to traditional dietary fats as more and more people experiment with their nutrition plans to see what works best for them.

MCT oil is also popular because it is the ‘active ingredient’ in coconut oil. We shouldn’t need to tell you that coconut oil has also enjoyed serious popularity of late.

MCT is also an interesting oil for its versatility. Having options is great, and even more so when those options are useful for tons of stuff.

This includes baking, adding to coffees, drizzling over salads, and direct supplementation in shakes or shots, whatever suits your dietary needs!

On the official website, Performance Lab MCT pledges to be the ‘world’s cleanest MCT oil’, made from non-GMO organic coconuts distilled three times for purity. Does it live up to its claims? Let’s find out…

The Ingredients

Performance Lab MCT oil is a concentrated MCT oil; its simplicity is its biggest plus.

While other products may benefit from having secondary ingredients, a product like this is most reliant on purity.

Of the four MCTs, C8 and C10 are considered to be the most beneficial.

Performance Lab MCT oil is triple-filtered to filter out other MCTS and is concentrated to 60% C8 and 40% C10.

We like this focus since it offers a clear idea of what you’re getting and provides the most value for your cash.

There’s very little else you could add to a fat supplement that would add much benefit, so this simplicity really pays off.

What’s Missing?

As mentioned above, there’s very little you could add to this product that would make it better. The addition of new things means replacing what’s already there: the MCTs.

There really isn’t anything missing from this product because whatever we might like to add would simply replace the active ingredient. We recommend taking any other nutrients you want to combine it with separately.

Performance Lab offers a range of other supplements – such as fat burners, nootropics, a multivitamin and more – that can safely be taken in conjunction with this MCT oil.

As a result, we don’t think anything’s missing and we’d argue that this kind of 100% MCT approach is the best kind of product on the market. We like efficiency and value but keeping it simple is perfect here.

Performance Lab MCT Reviews

As with the various other Performance Lab products we’ve discussed, their MCT oil isn’t available through websites like Amazon.

This seems to be a specific choice by the manufacturer and it’s not the end of the world because the direct approach does carry some benefits. Things like direct customer service without middle-men and regular sales on popular products are great.

Reviews would be a fine addition, but other reviews from blogs, vlogs, and industry experts seem to be pretty much in line out what we’ve said so far.

It’s a high purity MCT oil and it’s easy to use, which are the main things you should be looking for in this kind of product.

What About Side Effects?

As always, you should speak to a certified healthcare professional before trying any new supplement for the first time.

There’s a pretty good chance that you’ve consumed a wide variety of Medium Chain Triglycerides in your diet already.

You can find MCTs in foods like coconuts and their oil, as well as cheeses and milk. These are common foods and you’re probably going to know if you’re well-suited to these nutrients – and they’re very low risk for side effects.

If you already know you have a problem with MCTs, or suspect so, you obviously shouldn’t be using this product. Always consult with a certified medical professional before using a new supplement, especially if you have an underlying medical condition.

Is This The Best Supplement For Me?

If you’re looking for a high quality MCT oil, this is definitely one of our favourites.

It comes with all the benefits of purity and simplicity in a convenient form, with a strong and trustworthy brand behind it. We don’t think there needs to be much more to a good MCT oil than this.

The best supplement is the one that best suits your needs – and this combination of quality and reliability are the main reason we like this product. It’s the standard you should use when shopping for MCT oils more generally.

If you’re looking for a fat supplement and you want to change up your source from olive oil, for example, it’s a good open. Adding a new, high-quality saturated fat source to your diet can be useful to avoid lower-quality choices.

MCT oils are great to have in your cupboard, and the organic Performance Lab MCT oil is one of the best ones around.

Anything Else To Consider?

We always mention the Performance Lab clean label guarantee, but that’s because the food supplement industry could really do with more of this in general.

Performance Lab MCT Oil is made in FDA approved labs to Good Manufacturing Practices guidelines, giving you a guarantee that the product will be free from a variety of unnecessary or problematic compounds.

This is a way of assuring you that you’re getting what it says on the label and it’s produced responsibly/safely

The supplement is vegan friendly – but so is the entire Performance Lab range, as well as being free from GMO ingredients. It is also certified organic.

The benefits of this kind of integrity come in the form of peace of mind, the ability to trust a brand, and the knowledge that you’re not in for nasty surprises.

This is especially important if you do need the freedom from common allergens we mentioned above.

A good product benefits from a good brand, and the Performance Lab brand is well-regarded on the market. We like these pro-active commitments to quality.

Review Conclusion – Final Thoughts

We think this is a great source of MCTs. The Performance Lab MCT oil does a lot to encapsulate the things we’re looking for in an MCT product and we rate it highly.

If you’re in the market for MCTs and are looking for a high quality, organic product, then the Performance Lab MCT is a great option.
