We’re always on the lookout for the latest quality products to hit the market here at HumanWindow, and so we were really keen to try out Son of a Tailor’s custom-made T-shirts to see whether they lived up to the hype or not.

It all sounds pretty good, doesn’t it?
This Son of a Tailor T-shirt review is going to focus on all of the things you need to know about the product, from the sizing process to the fit and feel of it.
We’re going to be paying particularly close attention the quality of the materials used and see whether Son of a Tailor can actually deliver on their promise of a perfect-fitting T-shirt every time.

Son of a Tailor was launched in Copenhagen, Denmark, in 2014, and they have since established themselves as one of the leading players in the custom-sized clothes market.
The brand is clean and modern looking, and they do a lot of their promotion via social media platforms such as Instagram.
As we mentioned above, what sets Son of a Tailor’s T-shirts apart from regular ones is the fact that they are 100 per cent custom made to order.
This means that they only produce the T-shirts after you’ve submitted an order featuring your custom size.
The Son of a Tailor website features a clean and simple design. It’s really straightforward and easy to use.
The first thing you’ll want to do is create an account and then set about making your first custom size.
There are three ways to make a custom size. The first, and presumably the most popular, uses their impressive algorithm feature to generate the perfect fit.
All you have to do is to enter your height, weight, shoe size and age. The algorithm will then use 50,000 datapoints to create a unique body profile for you – and a custom size. You can then make your own adjustments to the fit, and make other tweaks to things such as the length.
Alternatively, you can measure one of your existing T-shirts that fits you well, input those numbers and use that as your custom size.
The third and final option is to ask a friend to grab a tape measure and measure your body. Again, you simply then enter the numbers to create your custom size.
You have three options when it comes to creating your Son of a Tailor Custom Size
Using the algorithm is certainly the quickest and easiest option, but even following the other two methods is straightforward, and the website features very clear instructions on how to get each of the important numbers.
After you’ve created your custom size, it’s time for the fun part.
You then set about creating your perfect T-shirt by selecting a number of different customisation options.
This includes the weight of the cotton (heavy or medium), the color, whether you want a pocket or not, the collar type and whether you want the sleeves rolled up or not.
A really cool feature is the ability to have your initials sewn into the T-shirt in a tone-in-tone color to the bottom left.
Things like the pocket and initials cost a little bit extra to add on.
The standard Son of a Tailor T-shirt comes in five different colors: white, black, dark grey, light grey and navy blue. They also add in other colors depending on the season.
Once you’re happy with design of your T-shirt, it’s time to place your order and look forward to it being delivered to your door.
What’s The T-Shirt Like?
As soon as you open the box, you can really feel the quality of the product.
The cotton (we went for the heavy weight), boasts a luxurious feel that’s unlike any other T-shirt I’ve ever owned.

When you first get your T-shirt, you’re advised to give it a quick wash at 40c. This is because shrinkage has been accounted for with the size, so it should fit perfectly from the first wash onwards.
In terms of the fit, we could not fault the service from start to finish.
We did have a couple of problems with the sizes of one of our T-shirts, but the excellent customer service team were extremely helpful. After taking their advice for a few tweaks to the size, they sent out a replacement T-shirt free of charge.
Each T-shirt comes with Son of a Tailor’s ‘Perfect Fit Guarantee’. Basically, it means that if the T-Shirt doesn’t fit properly, you can get a replacement sent out free of charge, which is pretty cool.
We recommend that you only order one T-shirt at first, so you can get make sure that the size is right before ordering more (which you will want to!).
The Positives
• High Quality – The T-shirt really is of the highest quality. It’s made from 100% Extra Long Staple Cotton for added durability.
• Guaranteed Great Fit – Son of a Tailor will replace your T-shirt for free if it doesn’t fit as expected.
• Excellent Customer Service – As we mentioned above, our experience with the Son of a Tailor customer service team was great. They helped us to resolve an issue with a T-shirt promptly and in a friendly manner.
The Negatives
• Price – There’s no getting around from the fact that Son of a Tailor T-shirts are a premium-priced product. They are more expensive than a normal T-shirt because they are custom made from start to finish. That said, they do offer some pretty good discounts on the official website if you’re buying more than one.
• Delivery Time – The one problem with custom made clothing is that it takes longer to make. This is not really a surprise, but if you’re expecting next-day delivery, then you’re out of luck. We found that our T-shirts took a little over two weeks from clicking the order button to arrive on our doorstep.

We took a look online to see what other real customers were saying about Son of a Tailor’s T-shirts.
On Trustpilot, the brand has excellent reviews, with 86% of reviews for five stars, which is pretty impressive.
One person left a five-star review and said it was a top-quality product, with a top service. They then declared themselves as a “customer for life”.
One of the more negative reviews came from somebody who left a three-star review and said that their T-shirt measurements were slightly off.
Anything Else To Consider?
As all of Son of a Tailor’s T-shirts are custom made by hand, there is sometimes some deviation in terms of the precise measurements.
This means that some T-shirts may fit slightly better than others.
It’s also important to bear in mind that Son of a Tailor T-shirts will take longer to be made and delivered than regular ones. If you’re looking for a new T-shirt to be delivered tomorrow, it’s probably best to look somewhere else.
