Today we’re going to be reviewing the Tuft & Needle Mint mattress to see where it stands in comparison to other products in this category.

It’s marketed as a “luxury” foam mattress that comes at a much cheaper price than similar offerings from other brands.

There are so many different types of foam mattresses out there these days that it can be difficult to know which one to go for.

The ‘bed in a box’ market has exploded, and there are now more choices than ever when it comes to picking a product in this category.

However, the extra choice can also make it a little bit tricky to pick out the best product for you.

This Tuft & Needle Mint review is going to focus on everything you need to know about this particular mattress as we look to see where it stands in relation to the top products in this category.

We’re going to be paying particularly close attention to what the mattress is made of, what it feels like to sleep on and what real customers are saying about it, as we look to see how it compares to the top memory foam mattresses out there.

So, with the introductions out of the way, let’s start taking a closer look at the Tuft & Needle Mint to see where it stands.

Tuft & Needle Mint – The Basics

So, as we’ve already mentioned, the Tuft & Needle Mint is the premium offering from this popular mattress brand.

We’ve already reviewed the low-cost standard Tuft & Needle Mattress, and now it’s time to take a closer look at it’s more expensive sibling.

The Mint is marketed as a “luxury foam mattress for the price of a standard mattress”.

You can buy a King size from the official website for $1,045, with a Twin setting you back $495.

The marketing material on the official Tuft & Needle website says that this product has been put together following feedback from customers in all areas.

It promises to offer cool sleeping, reliable support and excellent comfort to help you enjoy a restful night’s sleep.

This all sounds pretty good to us so far, so now let’s take a closer look to see what the Tuft & Needle Mint is actually made of.

The Mint is 12 inches tall, which is considerably thicker than a lot of the other standard mattresses in this category.

It features three different layers of foam to help you drift off at night and stay asleep.

Here are the three layers of the Tuft & Needle Mint Mattress:

1) Three inches of Tuft & Needle Foam – To offer pressure relief
2) Two inches of Poly Foam – For added comfort
3) Six and a half inches of High Density Poly Foam – To provide solid support throughout the night

It’s cool to see that the Tuft & Needle Mint uses ceramic cooling gel beads in the second layer of foam to help with cooling and pressure relief.

We always like it when manufacturers look to add cooling features to mattresses, as foam products tend to have a bit of a reputation for getting too hot during the night.

Like the standard mattress, the Tuft & Needle mint comes with a 100-night home trial, meaning that you can test it out and return it for a full refund during that time if you’re not happy.

It also comes with free delivery to your door in a vacuum-packed box, and a 10-year warranty.

It all sounds great so far, doesn’t it? However, we prefer not to pay too much attention to what manufacturers are saying about their own products and instead focus on what the mattress actually feels like and what real customers are saying about it.

So, with that in mind, let’s move on to the next section of our review.

What Does The Tuft & Needle Mint Mattress Feel Like?

Like most of the similar products out there, the Tuft & Needle Mint is marketed as a ‘medium-firm’ mattress. But what does it actually feel like?

The Mint is rated at around a 6.4 on the firmness scale, with 10 being the firmest.

You’ll feel yourself sink into the top two layers for some instant pressure relief, but the final layer of thick form offers some sturdy support.

Stomach and back sleepers tend to prefer slightly firmer mattresses, and the Mint may be a good choice in this case.

Because it’s a tad firmer than a few of the other mattresses we’ve come across recently, it may not be best suited to side sleepers, who tend to prefer having a softer mattress.

The Positives

• Good Price – The Tuft & Needle Mint comes with a reasonable price tag for a premium mattress, making it a great option if you’re looking for a high quality product on a budget.

• Well Made and Comfortable – It’s made of high quality materials and is built to last. It’s also got some nice features such as the use of Graphite and Cooling Gel Beads within its layers.

The Negatives

• May be a bit too firm for Side Sleepers – Because it is a tad firmer than a few of the similar products we’ve reviewed recently, the Mint may not be ideal if you’re a side sleeper looking for a softer mattress.

• No Memory Foam – This is an all-foam mattress which does not use any layers of memory foam. Memory foam tends to be a tad more expensive than standard poly foam, so this is probably not a huge surprise.

Tuft & Needle Mint Reviews

We took a look on Amazon.com but unfortunately, the Mint is not available on there.

This means that the best place to buy it is directly from the manufacturer on the official website. However, this doesn’t make it ideal when searching for real customer reviews.

One person left a 10/10 review of the Mint on the official website and said that it helped them to sleep “like a dream”.

One more negative review came from somebody that left a 1/10 rating and said that they were not so happy with the Mint as it wasn’t comfortable for them.

Anything Else To Consider?

The only way to be sure about whether a mattress is actually right for you or not is to sleep on it for a few nights.

This is why we always recommend that you take advantage of the home trials offered by most of the manufacturers in this category.

All of Tuft & Needle’s mattresses come with a 100-night home trial, so that means you can test it out at home before making a final decision if you want to get a refund or not.

It’s also worth remembering that foam mattresses tend to feel a bit hotter to traditional mattresses.

If you usually get hot during the night, then choosing a foam mattress may not be the best idea.

Review Conclusion – Final Thoughts

So, that brings us to the end of our Tuft & Needle Mint review.

Overall, we were pretty impressed by this low-cost luxury mattress.

It’s well-built, features three good layers of foam and comes from a popular brand.

The only slight drawbacks are that you can only buy it from the official website right now and that it doesn’t feature any layers of memory foam.

It’s also worth noting that side sleepers may find that this mattress is a little bit too firm for their liking.
